Yes, it’s completely safe to handle food after you’ve used the hand foam. However, the product does contain an ingredient that has a bitter taste. So if the hand foam hasn’t dried completely, there’s a possibility a bitter taste could get on to food when you handle it.

The hand foam will help stop you passing the cold on to anyone else, but it won’t do anything for an existing cold. But there are lots of other Vicks products that can help you.

No it won’t. The natural harmless bacteria on your hands can resist the effects of the product or rapidly replenish themselves.

Superbugs are usually created when a product acts against a virus or bacterium in one way only and the bacteria or virus develops a resistance to that product. The hand foam works in various ways against viruses and bacteria, so it will not create superbugs.

The hand foam doesn’t have any effect on your immune system, so your body’s natural resistance to germs isn’t affected. If you do get a cold after using the products, that’s because each cold is caused by a different virus strain and you don’t ever get immunity from all colds. The severity of the cold or illness will depend entirely on the strain of virus that has caused it.

The hand foam carries on working on your hands for three hours. Some will rub off, what’s left is enough to protect you.

A:

You should wash your hands normally, then apply the hand foam. Washing your hands removes the foam and the protective layer.
